Powerpoint 2011 freezes on mac
Yesterday I have completely erased everything on my mac and reinstalled everything which isn't much, all default and MS Office. I presume this qualifies as creating a new user account as well had to set it up again. Initially problem seemed to have been resolved, but now it is back again. When I try to switch to slide sorter view or try to close the file it just freezes. I have tried the particular powerpoint file on a friend's macbook and no issues whatsoever So file seems to be ok.

Unfortunately, nothings seems to have helped. The annoying thing here is that everything worked fine for at least half a year prior to when I started experiencing these issues. Have you tried Repairing Permissions using the Disk Utility. Then after the above run the Font Book. If the validation routine finds any problems resolve them, duplicates need to be trashed and the trash emptied, and then cold start full power down the system.

Sep 26, AM in response to LyndafromDaphne In response to LyndafromDaphne When you say "freezing" do you mean that you see the spinning beach ball of death, which eventually resolves, or does the app completely crash, and must be force quit, or you have to restart? What specifically are you trying to do with Powerpoint when it freezes? Is it when you have video in your presentation? How much RAM do you have? How full is your hard drive?
